NIHR Clinical Lecturer In Pain Medicine.

Harriet is an NIHR funded Clinical Lecturer in Pain Medicine at Imperial College London. Her current work is focussed on investigating mechanisms involved in the development of pain following critical illness and major trauma.  She also works with the Armed Services Trauma Rehabilitation Outcome Study to explore the long-term pain outcomes in people wounded on the battlefield. She completed her PhD in 2018 as part of the European Commission Programme Grant ‘Neuropain’ where she investigated the role of sensory phenotyping and cognitive function in the assessment of people living with painful HIV-associated neuropathy. During this time, she also performed methodological and reliability studies in Conditioned Pain Modulation and Quantitative Sensory Testing.  As an anaesthetic trainee she was involved in the Trainee Research Networks and co-led the pan-London ‘PAINT study’, investigating pain assessment in critical care. She is also a management committee member for the IASP Neuropathic Pain Special Interest Group
