Dr Naomi Freeman
Consultant Anaesthetist, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France
Dr Naomi Freeman is a consultant anaesthetist working in Edinburgh. Her clinical interests include regional anaesthesia, trauma, obstetrics and emergency care.
She was elected to the Association of Anaesthetists Trainee Committee in 2020 and her roles included LTFT Lead, Honorary Secretary and Chair of the committee alongside Director and Trustee on the Board of the Association. Naomi was awarded the Anniversary Medal for services to the Association in 2023. She has co-authored multiple policies and guides for the Association and contributed to national courses and guidance at the RCoA. She is currently the Immediate Past Chair of the Trainee Committee, and ongoing projects include work on inequalities in training, mentoring and trainee advocacy.
Naomi is a firm believer in educational access in anaesthesia, workforce welfare and mentoring. She is the co-founder of MentorScot.com, the anaesthetic mentoring network in South East Scotland. When not working Naomi gets walked by her Welsh Springer Spaniel.
