RA-UK 2021 Annual Scientific Meeting Speaker Spotlight - Dr Rosie Hogg

Dr Rosie Hogg MB ChB FRCA MD is a consultant anaesthetist based at the Belfast Health & Social Care Trust with a specialist interest in regional anaesthesia. After graduating from the University of Leeds she completed her anaesthesia training in Northern Ireland. She was awarded a postgraduate MD from Queens University Belfast following research focused on patient-centred outcomes & regional anaesthesia and spent a year as visiting faculty at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia in 2014.


Her clinical interests include the development and integration of perioperative point of care ultrasound, enhanced recovery for colorectal surgery & the use of social media in medical education. In addition to her clinical responsibilities she works for the Department of Health on the future development of elective care in Northern Ireland.

She is vice-president of the Northern Ireland Society of Regional Anaesthesia and a trustee of the Belfast arthroplasty research trust.


She is a passionate advocate for flexible working for parents & caregivers, in particular those with an interest in research or policy development, and spends her spare time with her wonderful young family.
