"How I do it" Expert Clinical symposia sessions

The highlight of this year's meeting is the "How I do it" expert clinical symposia sessions on day 1.  This new innovative format provides a full day of 5 interactive, dynamic, engaging sessions where international experts give clinical tips and practical pointers of how and why they use regional anaesthesia in their daily practice.  With real-life common clinical scenarios, live scanning demonstrations, audience polls and 'tweet-the-expert' questions, these sessions will provide delegates with the tools to incorporate regional anaesthesia into their daily practice, and make a difference to patient care.

Workshops

We expect that most delegates will prefer to attend all of the ‘How I do it’ sessions, however we will also run some clinically focussed workshops in parallel to the symposia for those delegates who wish to freshen up their scanning skills for a particular clinical subset of nerve blocks.  There will also be workshops targeted at the infrequent blocker or ultrasound novice, which focus on 5 nerve blocks that cover almost everything. For the afternoon workshop sessions, delegates can choose only 1 of the 4 sessions.

Day 1 workshop sessions

  • 6 blocks for beginners to cover almost everything

  • Nerve blocks for shoulder Surgery

  • Nerve blocks for awake hand, wrist, forearm

  • Nerve blocks for abdominal surgery

  • Nerve blocks for hip fracture surgery

  • Nerve blocks for awake foot and ankle surgery
