In May 2024 the RA-UK annual scientific meeting will take place in the iconic city of London, once again providing a unique opportunity for all attendees to build their own, personalised meeting experience in regional anaesthesia and perioperative point of care ultrasound. We have a fantastic program prepared with over 30 transatlantic, European and UK experts attending, spearheaded by our Bruce Scott Lecturer Dr Amit Pawa.

The meeting will focus primarily on regional anaesthesia but will also include POCUS and pain medicine, and comprise of lectures, live ultrasound demonstrations, debate, ask the expert sessions as well as a special joint session with the British Journal of Anaesthesia, one of the world’s leading anaesthetic journals. This joint session will focus on research in regional anaesthesia and coincide with the BJA special edition on regional anaesthesia. There will also be an opportunity for networking, informal conversation and hands-on workshops.

The RA-UK ASM is by far the biggest in person regional anaesthesia meeting in the UK each year. Our society membership and ASM attendances have been increasing annually and last year at a sold out #RAUK23 in Newcastle we had our biggest ever in person meeting yet with over 400 attendees and hundreds more online. Our meetings also generate significant social media attention, with over 20 million impressions recorded at previous ASMs. Following our first ever virtual Annual Scientific Meeting in 2021 during Covid where nearly 1000 delegates tuned in to watch we have successfully run hybrid meetings, continuing the RA-UK tradition of delivering ground-breaking educational content to medical professionals. #RAUK24 will again be a hybrid format, allowing delegates from around the world to participate either in-person or virtually, choosing how to attend based on their individual needs.

The venue for the 2024 meeting is the Park Plaza Riverbank, London. Located on the South Bank of the Thames in central London it is an impressive venue ideal for conferences, overlooking the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and the London Eye. London is one of the most beautiful and famous cities in the world, rich in history and culture and easily accessible from both the UK and the rest of the world. We are sure it will be the perfect setting for our biggest ever meeting yet and so I do hope that you will join me there along with all our wonderful faculty in May 2024 and experience the unique RA-UK atmosphere.
