James is a Consultant Anaesthetist at the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.  His research is based at the University of Oxford, and he is a member of the RA-UK Research Network.  

 

He has led multiple RA-UK projects, including research priority setting exercises and consensus recommendations on the anatomical structures to identify on ultrasound for regional anaesthesia.  These works have involved global collaboration and are endorsed by international societies in regional anaesthesia.

James’ main research focus is on developing and evaluating AI devices for medical ultrasound, reporting this work for academic publication and regulatory review in Europe and the USA.
