Dr Nat Haslam
Consultant anaesthetist at South Tyneside and Sunderland Foundation Trust.
Nat is a consultant anaesthetist at the South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. He has been a board member of RA-UK for 8 years, and is RA-UK President. He is also an ESRA Council member.
He is clinical lead for regional anaesthesia at STSFT where he introduced one of the first block rooms in the UK. He is course director for the Sunderland Ultrasound Guided Regional Anaesthesia (SUGRA) course.
He is co-lead for the University of East Anglia MSc in Regional Anaesthesia, an invited speaker for both the RCoA and the Association of Anaesthetists and is a regular international speaker.
As a member of the RCoA working party, he led the development of the Prep, Stop, Block national patient safety initiative. He represents RA-UK on the RCoA's Anaesthesia Associates scope of practice core writing group, co-authored the recent RCoA GPAS chapter and is a member of the NAP8 steering group. He also co-authored the RA-UK/BSOA national nerve injury guidelines.
