Ki Jinn Chin, MBBS(Hons), MMed , FRCPC, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesia at the University of Toronto, and is also the Fellowship Coordinator and Regional Anesthesia Program Director at the Toronto Western Hospital, Toronto, Canada. He graduated from medical school at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, U.K., and completed anesthesiology training in Singapore. He subsequently completed two subspecialty fellowships in Canada; the first in neuroanesthesia at the University of Western Ontario in London, and the second in regional anesthesia at Toronto Western Hospital. He is passionate about anything to do with ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia (UGRA), but is especially interested in ultrasonography of the spine, ultrasound-guided truncal blocks (especially the erector spinae plane (ESP) block), and teaching technical skills related to UGRA. When he is not scanning or needling, he devotes the rest of his time to his family and his other interests: trail running, reading, and cooking.
